The First Canadian Centre is a prominent office tower located in the heart of Calgary's downtown core at 350 7th Avenue SW. Designed by the renowned architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the building is a testament to modernist architectural principles and boasts a sleek, imposing presence on the Calgary skyline.

Standing at 167 meters with 41 storeys, the First Canadian Centre was completed in 1982. It was originally conceived as part of a two-tower project, with the second, taller tower intended to reach 64 storeys. However, the economic recession of the early 1980s halted these ambitious plans, and only the first tower was completed.

The building's design includes a distinctive banking hall and extensive use of glass and steel, which enhances its modern aesthetic. The ground floor is primarily occupied by the Bank of Montreal, which has a significant retail banking branch.

The First Canadian Centre is strategically positioned along Calgary's Light Rapid Transit (LRT) line, providing excellent connectivity and accessibility. This prime location ensures easy access to a myriad of amenities, including retail, dining, and professional services, making it a highly sought-after office location in Calgary.

Throughout its history, the First Canadian Centre has been a notable part of Calgary's architectural landscape. The building's status as a Class A office tower has been maintained through continuous upgrades and modernizations to meet the evolving needs of its tenants.

Over the years, the site has seen various redevelopment proposals, including plans for a new east tower that would complement the original structure. Despite these proposals, the economic landscape has often influenced the pace and feasibility of such expansions.

Today, the First Canadian Centre remains a vital part of Calgary's downtown, reflecting both the historical significance and the ongoing evolution of the city's architectural heritage. Its prime location, combined with its modern amenities and robust design, continue to make it an attractive location for businesses in Calgary.
