Sunlife Plaza, now rebranded as The Ampersand, is a significant office complex located at 140 4 Avenue SW in downtown Calgary. Comprising three identical 28-story towers, the complex was constructed over several years, with the West Tower completed in 1981, the North Tower in 1982, and the East Tower in 1984. Each tower stands at a height of 114 meters (375 feet).

The Ampersand has been extensively renovated to meet modern standards and enhance the communal areas of the complex. The $25 million redevelopment was carried out in three phases and completed in 2021. These renovations added 57,000 square feet of building amenities, including a new conference center, tenant-exclusive fitness center, tenant lounge, multi-purpose court, new tower entries, and a redesigned plaza with a feature sculpture.

The complex offers excellent connectivity with direct access to Calgary’s Plus 15 skywalk system, providing sheltered pedestrian pathways to other buildings and amenities in the downtown area. The towers also include extensive parking facilities with approximately 1000 parking spaces, catering to the needs of both tenants and visitors.

The redevelopment aimed to create a more vibrant and interactive community space within the complex, enhancing the sense of community among tenants. The new amenities, including fitness and recreational facilities, meeting pods, a food market, café, library, and bar, are designed to foster social interaction and provide a modern, flexible working environment.

Located in a prime area of Calgary's business district, The Ampersand is surrounded by various dining, shopping, and entertainment options, making it a desirable location for businesses. Managed by Aspen Properties, the complex continues to attract major tenants, including energy-related firms and consulting companies.
