Western Canadian Place North is a significant landmark in Calgary’s skyline, standing tall at 164 meters with 41 floors. Completed in 1983, this office tower is located at 707 8 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta. The building, designed by Cohos Evamy Partners, exhibits a late modernist architectural style and serves primarily as an office complex. It was built by PCL Construction Management Inc., and since its completion, it has housed various prominent businesses, including the headquarters of Husky Energy.

Western Canadian Place North, along with its shorter sibling the South Tower, forms a central part of Calgary’s downtown core. The North Tower, often referred to as the Husky Oil Building, is a testament to the architectural and engineering prowess of its time. The tower's sleek design is complemented by modern amenities, making it a highly sought-after office space.

The complex includes two levels of shops and services, enhancing its appeal and convenience for tenants and visitors alike. The building's strategic location offers excellent connectivity with the rest of the city, facilitated by its proximity to the LRT station and multiple +15 connections. These elevated pedestrian walkways link various buildings in downtown Calgary, providing a seamless and weather-protected route for commuters.

In terms of sustainability and modernization, Western Canadian Place North has undergone several renovations to maintain its status as a premier office space. These upgrades ensure that it continues to meet the evolving needs of its tenants while adhering to contemporary standards of building performance and environmental responsibility.

The North Tower’s construction began in early 1981 and was completed by January 1983, marking a significant achievement in Calgary’s urban development. Today, it stands as a symbol of the city's economic growth and architectural innovation, offering a prestigious address for businesses looking to establish a prominent presence in Calgary’s business district.
