Application officially withdrawn now, due to no support from the city staff, KelownaNow reports. The city expects a new proposal will be submitted for a different project for the site, but no estimated date has been provided by GSL.
So as of right now, the project is cancelled, unfortunately. Waiting for the new submission.

I don't think they "own" the land, as they rent it until 2029 with the arena, so I am confused too on what is next. As staff already pushing for another operator for the arena after 2029.
Was posted today on Castanet, that the city is against the proposal due to public parking concerns, I am watching closely :)

I didn’t realize GSL owned all the land! It definitely will be interesting. With the arena being outdated I wonder if a different developer will try to propose a new modern arena as plans for the old mill site come to fruition.

I am wondering how it's all going to unfold. The city is looking for a new operator for Prospera Place, as the leasing contract expires in 2029. GSL Group is not ready to give up. The future of the Prospera Place and the towers is unclear.
