Pretty impressive, fast build from the permit to the final phases of construction in one year. Makes perfect sense to have a coffee shop or fast food down there next to the hospital. I hope it will bring life to the area and not going to be another bank or something boring on the street level.

That question would be better directed towards the city. This is just a website somebody made for people who are interested in developments.
What is the plan for managing the major increase in traffic for this area?
We live nearby and with school traffic turning off Richmond onto Bernard this intersection is already difficult and dangerous

Urban Legend, Sep 11, 2025
Interesting development, UBCO flipped the land with the city to build a like-for-like replacement for the Hadgraft Wilson Place building in the Capri area and will own the land where current building stands.
Moving forward fast, with demolition on the new location is scheduled for October and construction will begin before the end of the year.
No information what will happened to the current building, but my guess it's going to be demolished too and the UBCO will own the whole block now, which is nice for the future expansion.

Carol about Unnamed City of Kelowna Rental Project

I would be interested in knowing where the traffic flow is expected to go. There will be 3 apartments built along Glenmore with a tiny back alley. There will be a definite increase on the roads in the area (Highland Dr N, Ridgeway Dr, Mountainview St. Are there plans to have traffic calming in place as there are already so many vehicles that drive through the area quickly and many children play in the area and others walking and biking. Thank you for your time.

Math must not be developers strongest skill! 20 units at rates that need 2 working adults but only 15 car spots… let’s see that means roughly 20 cars need to park on the street - generalizing some renters might earn enough to live solo; or some might not have a car. I’m sick of purpose built developers thinking people who rent don’t drive or need parking. This town lacks transit as a real option. It’s not Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver. Kelowna is a car dependent town. That you underserved renters where parking is concerned only impacts everyone! Get ready for more crowded roads as folks drive around looking for parking. Epic fail as far as I’m concerned. Build smarter.

Any ideas on when they might break ground?
Love the design, form and character of this building. So far removed from the standard Kelowna condo styles we see around town. You don't know if you are in the Mission or Rutland. Bring us something like this, something imaginative. I can hardly wait to see their next project.
