This newly planned development also promises to have a daycare on the first floor.
Overall, Tsinstikeptum 10 reserve is getting so much development action, crazy! At least 7 different developments are planned/constructed right now. Ariva, Westrich Bay, Westbrook, Shelter Bay, and The Bluff, looks like more than 3,000 units for the area, huge.

The Bernard Block is almost complete. The pool has been lifted yesterday to the top floor of the Bertram Tower, and they'll probably dismantle the crane next month.
Water feature was installed at the corner of the Office Block, and it looks amazing! Doesn't seem like the office is completed yet, but was promissed for Q1.

The last 6 months' cancellations of the projects put Kelowna back at least 2,000 units. Most of the big developers in Kelowna adjusted their plans for the projects in the works.

TMB Okanagan about UBCO Downtown
Mar 06, 2024
Hi Jim. I think that rendering is taken from Bertram & Doyle Ave, and the brick buildings you are seeing are placeholders for the existing buildings adjacent to UBC (the old school building & the legion).
That's sad, I am wondering how deep they have dug so far, in terms of full levels for parking, 3 out of 4? Looks pretty deep.
On another note, the new rendering of the tower is very confusing, what is happening on the ground level? Does anyone know? Was nicer to see grand open facades with public spaces on the previous renderings.

Construction has been paused briefly as recommended from engineers due to problems with the surrounding buildings. UBC is making changes, estimated opening of the building in is still the same (Fall 2027).

The rezoning application will be decided on Monday, Mar 4 by the council. City staff supports the project, so there should be no problem to move this forward.

Jim Kelowna about Prospera Towers
Feb 27, 2024
Application officially withdrawn now, due to no support from the city staff, KelownaNow reports. The city expects a new proposal will be submitted for a different project for the site, but no estimated date has been provided by GSL.
So as of right now, the project is cancelled, unfortunately. Waiting for the new submission.

TMB Okanagan about 1355 St Paul
Feb 22, 2024
Thanks Jack. My apologies if I came across harshly. You can't always trust what castanet reports, unfortunately.
Previous articles on Castanet (from the original 2022 proposal) said it was a "partnership" and the projects were designed together. But I see what you mean, I removed the word partnership, mention of the UBCO from the project's name, and corrected the article. Thank you for the feedback.

This post is misleading. Mission Group is developing this site independently of UBC, there is no affiliation between the two. The property was subdivided in 2022 into 2 lots - severing the two projects and developers from one another.
