The City of Kelowna is utilizing a $24.65 million short-term borrowing strategy to finance the acquisition of downtown waterfront properties for a future hotel, with interest payments covered by marina and parking revenues. The city plans to sell the land to a developer within five years, following the site's purchase in 2025.

We should be expecting to see the UBCO tower making significant changes to Kelowna's skyline during summer 2026, with being able to see it from anywhere you can see the downtown of Kelowna!
